THANK YOU🙏🏿
I remember in 2010, I dropped what would later be a turning point in my career, and would change the face of the entertainment industry in Calabar, a mixtape cover of a song by late Dagrin titled 'Pon Pon'.
Then I barely knew you. But I realized the song spread like wild fire, n the first ever dj mix I heard the song was 'Hellooo, Dj smart, the dj with a difference'.
As the song gave me street cred n I began to headline street parties, we aligned naturally.
Fast-forward to 2013 when I formed Okpo Rekordz n me n my team began to work with DrRitzy InaaNu (then at Maple Street), bangers upon bangers came through. U used to come to the studio, watch us record, n when the songs were ready, na u go first collect Dem, cast am for street.
Infact, u took our vibes religiously. From 'Welcum 2 Bateba', to 'Mboro' to 'Chi Chum Chin' to many other artists who came to work with Dr Ritzy, u made sure our songs were heard in every home in n outside Calabar.
I'm happy we collaborated on some songs too.
Dj Smart Bassey I'm so devastated by ur sudden demise, n what a way u chose to go😔
But then, I wanna thank you for being part of my career journey.
Thank you, for all the promotions I didn't even know about that u did for me n my team.
Thank you for the shows u recommended for me.
Thank you for the moments we shared together, as Calabar South brothers🙏🏿🙏🏿
As I write this, memories keep flooding my head😔😔
I will never forget you brother.
Rest Easy King🕊️ #UpperEyenInor #Sweee!!
