SEASON 2 Is Beauty A Crime?💔 — EPISODE 1

Mary dragged her bag slowly out of the hostel.

The wheels made a low rough sound on the ground, but she didn’t care. Her head was down, her face hidden under a face cap and dark eyeglasses. She wore a simple casual outfit, nothing flashy, nothing that could draw attention.

She didn’t want to be seen.
She didn’t want to be remembered.

Every step away from the hostel felt heavy, like she was leaving a part of her life behind. The memories, the fear, the blood, the screams… everything followed her like a shadow.

She finally got to the park.

The place was noisy and crowded. Conductors were shouting. Engines were roaring. People were arguing, laughing, rushing, living their normal lives like nothing bad had ever happened.

Mary stood still for a moment, holding her bag tight.

Maybe I’ll finally be safe in Ibadan, she thought.

She boarded a cab going to her town.

The vehicle was almost full. She sat close to the window, placed her bag between her legs, and rested her back on the seat.

The hustle and bustle around her slowly faded as her mind drifted far away.

“IBADAN! IBADAN! LAST PERSON ENTER!”

The conductor yelled at the top of his voice.

Just then, a man rushed in.

He wore a nose mask. As he entered, a strong perfume scent filled the bus. Heads turned instantly. Even Mary lifted her face slightly.

The man moved to the back seat.

For some strange reason, Mary turned to look at him.

Their eyes met just for a second the man looked young… calm… like a student.

Mary quickly looked away. Her heart beat a little faster, but she told herself it was nothing.

The journey began.

Some passengers slept almost immediately, some plugged in their earphones and started watching movies. Others fixed their eyes on the road, warning the driver every now and then to slow down.

Mary rested her head on the window.

She stared outside, but she wasn’t really seeing anything.

Her thoughts were loud.

Akin… Christiana… the gunshots… the blood…

She closed her eyes.

Four hours later, everything changed.

No more houses, no people only bushes flying past the road.

Few vehicles passed them once in a while.

The bus became quiet suddenly, the man at the back tapped the driver.

“Oga, park make I piss.”

The driver frowned.

“No fit. This place no safe.”

Some passengers supported the driver immediately.

“Oga abeg drive go front.”

“This bush no pure.”

But the man insisted.

“Oga park jare. I no be woman. I no go enter deep bush, na just here.”

After some arguments, the driver sighed and parked reluctantly.

The man came down.

Surprisingly, some other passengers also came down quickly, using the chance to ease themselves.

Only Mary stayed inside the bus. Her heart didn’t feel right. The driver pressed the horn loudly.

“Make una hurry!”

Suddenly—

GUNSHOTS!!!

Everything happened fast.

Men dressed like bandits came out from different angles of the bush, holding guns.

The first shot hit the driver he slumped immediately, screams filled the air, mary screamed and jumped down from the bus she tried to run but guns surrounded them.

People who tried to escape were shot on the spot.

Blood splashed on the sand bodies dropped.

Mary’s whole body shook.

Not again… please not again…

They were rounded up at one spot everyone was crying. Some were begging. Some were shaking like leaves.

Mary hugged herself tightly.

“What trouble have I entered again?” she whispered.

One of the bandits looked at the group carefully. His eyes stopped on one person, it was the guy with nose mask.

He pointed.

“Take him.”

The man was dragged away into the bush.

The rest were left behind… shaking… confused… alive.

But the question remain, how do they want to get home?
