The March of Civilisation: Where It All Began — Egypt, Africa!

Long before Rome rose from its seven hills or Athens echoed with the voices of philosophers, the Nile flowed quietly through the heart of a land destined to shape human history — Kemet, known to the world today as ancient Egypt. It was here, on the northeastern edge of Africa, that the march of civilisation took its first majestic steps.
Around 3100 BCE, when most of the world still wandered through forests and hunted for survival, the people of Kemet had already tamed the land and sky. They had learned to harness the Nile's annual floods to farm fertile black soil, giving rise to granaries that could feed thousands. They developed mathematics to measure fields, medicine to heal wounds, and astronomy to predict the stars. They built not just huts, but temples, tombs, and pyramids that reached for the heavens — stone testaments to a mind that dared to think beyond death.
It was not just the grandeur of the pyramids or the mystery of the Sphinx that marked Egypt’s greatness. It was their writing — Medu Neter, the divine script — carved into temple walls and papyrus scrolls, documenting law, poetry, philosophy, and commerce. It was their belief in Ma’at — the principle of truth, balance, and justice — that guided rulers and commoners alike.
Pharaohs like Imhotep, not only a vizier but a scientist and architect, laid the groundwork for what we now call engineering and medicine. Women like Hatshepsut ruled as kings, their legacies carved in stone. Trade routes stretched from Nubia in the south to Mesopotamia in the east, proving that Africa was not isolated, but central — a hub of knowledge, culture, and power.
When Greece admired science, they studied Egypt. When Rome sought order, they mimicked Egyptian governance. Even the biblical Moses, it is said, was raised in its royal courts.
So when the world speaks of the beginning of civilisation — of writing, architecture, medicine, governance, and cosmic awareness — let it be known:
It began in Africa. It began in Egypt. It began with the march of civilisation.
And though empires may rise and fall, the stones of Giza still whisper the truth of where it all began. #TheMarchofCivilisationWhereItAllBeganEgyptAfrica
