Two Choices, One Mistake

Season 2 – Episode 7

Tosin couldn’t breathe properly.

Olajide’s words — “We make sure the man never speaks again” — echoed in his head like gunshots. This was no longer about covering a mistake. This was about crossing a line that could never be erased.

“No,” Tosin finally said, his voice low but firm.
Everyone turned to him.

“No?” Olajide repeated calmly. “Do you understand what’s at stake?”

Tosin stood up.
“I understand too well. But killing somebody to save ourselves? That one no be solution. Na destruction.”

Olanisi shifted uneasily.
Seun avoided eye contact.
Julius exhaled sharply.

Olajide’s eyes hardened.
“So what do you suggest?”

Before Tosin could answer, Ojo burst into the room.

Sweaty.
Breathing fast.
Eyes wild.

“Police dey the hospital,” Ojo blurted out.
“Dem dey ask questions. And the man… the man don start talking.”

The room froze.

“Talking?” Seun whispered.

Ojo nodded, panic rising.
“He no remember everything, but he remember two boys. One tall. One slim.”

Tosin’s knees almost gave way.

Olajide reacted instantly.
“Everybody calm down.”
He looked straight at Tosin.
“You see? Time don finish.”

But Tosin surprised everyone.

“No,” he said again.
This time louder.
Stronger.

“I go talk.”

Gasps filled the room.

Bunmi rushed forward.
“Tosin, think about this!”

Tosin looked at her, eyes heavy with fear but clear with resolve.
“I don dey run since Season 1. I no fit run again.”

Ojo grabbed Tosin’s shirt.
“You wan destroy my life?!”

Tosin gently removed Ojo’s hand.
“You destroyed it the moment you lied.”

Silence.

Olajide stepped closer, voice cold.
“If you talk, Tosin… you stand alone.”

Tosin nodded slowly.
“Then I stand alone.”

At that moment, Tosin’s phone rang.

Unknown number.

He answered with shaking hands.

“Hello?”

A calm voice replied:
“This is the police. Oluwatosin, we need you to come in for questioning.”

The room spun.

Tosin ended the call and looked around at everyone — friends who had become strangers.

“This is where our paths split,” he said quietly.

As he walked toward the door, Bunmi followed him with tears in her eyes.

Behind him, Ojo collapsed into a chair.

And Olajide’s face darkened with a dangerous thought:

If Tosin talks… someone else must silence him..
