❗🔥 MY HUSBAND ALWAYS CALLS ANOTHER WOMAN’S NAME IN HIS SLEEP — THE REASON WILL SHOCK YOU!
EPISODE 20
(Written By: Miracle Uwak ✍️)

The world narrowed into one impossible choice.

Save my sister…
Or save myself.

The shadow loomed over the ritual circle, its smoky form twisting like a living nightmare. Its burning red eyes locked onto mine, waiting… savoring my fear.

“Choose,” it whispered.
“Before the binding completes.”

Nnenna hung in the air behind it—
silent, glowing, suspended like a broken puppet.
Her body was limp, her eyes white, her spirit slipping further away with each passing second.

My heart pounded so hard it hurt.

“Chioma…” Kelechi’s weak voice croaked from somewhere behind me. “Don’t… don’t do anything foolish. Please.”

But the ground vibrated violently, cutting him off.

Rita’s mother grabbed the stone archway to steady herself.

“The Circle began this ritual years ago,” she gasped. “But the shadow… it’s finishing it. If it succeeds, Nnenna will become its vessel forever!”

My stomach twisted.

Nnenna’s body jerked suddenly—
as if something inside her was fighting.

Her lips parted.

A faint, broken whisper escaped:

“Ch… ioma…”

I nearly collapsed.

She was still in there.
Still fighting.
Still reaching for me.

The shadow snarled in irritation.

“She resists because of you.
You delay destiny.
But you cannot stop it.”

“I won’t let you take her!” I shouted, my voice trembling but fierce.

The shadow’s form stretched, towering higher.

“You were always the chosen sacrifice,” it hissed.
“Born to die so your sister could live.
Born to bleed so the prophecy could be fulfilled.”

My hands trembled violently.

“No,” I whispered. “That destiny isn’t mine.”

The shadow’s laugh echoed through the forest like thunder.

“Then she dies in your place.”

The vines holding Nnenna glowed black—
beginning to twist around her throat.

“STOP!” I screamed.

But the vines tightened, inch by deadly inch.

Nnenna’s body twitched helplessly.

Her life was slipping away.

“CHIOMA!” Kelechi cried, struggling to stand.
“If you step into that circle, you won’t survive!”

“I can’t let her die!” I sobbed.

The mark on my skin pulsed hotter—
like fire beneath my flesh.

A sudden wind burst around me, swirling my hair.

Rita’s voice echoed faintly in my ear:

“Follow your mark…
but do not let the shadow choose your fate.”

The shadow raised its hand.

The vines constricted further.

Nnenna let out a strangled gasp.

Something snapped inside me.

I sprinted forward.

The shadow roared in fury.

“NNOOO!”

The runes around the circle blazed with blinding light as my foot crossed the edge.

Pain tore through my body—
hot and cold at the same time.
The mark on my chest exploded with crimson light, shooting streams of energy into the circle.

The ritual reacted instantly.

The vines released Nnenna, dropping her limp body to the ground.

But the energy latched onto ME instead.

My body wrenched upward, suspended in the air.
Crimson tendrils wrapped around my arms, my legs, my waist—pulling, binding, consuming.

Kelechi screamed my name.
Rita’s mother sobbed loudly.

The shadow hovered closer, its voice dripping with triumph.

“Yes… yes… you were always meant for this.”

I gasped as the tendrils tightened.

Every nerve in my body ignited with searing pain.

I felt my spirit stretching—
pulling—
splitting—

like the ritual was trying to tear something out of me.

I let out a strangled scream.

But then—

A spark.

A tiny point of warm light flashed across the circle.

Nnenna.

Her eyes fluttered open—no longer white, but glowing faintly gold.

“Sister…” she whispered weakly.
“Don’t… don’t do this.”

Tears blurred my vision.

“I don’t have a choice,” I gasped.
“You’ll die if I stop.”

Nnenna crawled toward the circle, struggling with every movement.

“No… you don’t understand…” she breathed, reaching out to me.
“They need one twin to bind the shadow… but it doesn’t have to be death.”

The shadow snarled.

“Silence, child!”

A blast of dark energy shot toward her—

But something in me reacted.

My mark flared violently.

A barrier of red light shot out, blocking the attack.

The shadow recoiled.

“What—?!”

Nnenna raised her trembling hand.

“The prophecy… was never about killing one of us,” she whispered.
“It was about awakening the mark in BOTH of us.
Two halves of one power.
One to hold the light…
one to hold the shadow.”

My breath caught.

“Then what happens now?” I whispered through the pain.

Nnenna placed her palm over her own mark.

Light sparked beneath her skin.

“We break the balance they forced on us.
We choose our OWN destiny.”

She pressed her glowing hand against the barrier around me.

Our marks reacted instantly.

A shockwave burst outward in a blinding explosion of red and gold.

The vines holding me shattered.

The runes cracked.

The ritual circle crumbled.

The shadow SCREAMED, recoiling as the twin marks collided in a storm of raw, ancient energy.

“You FOOLS!” it roared.
“You cannot fight destiny—”

The combined twin light engulfed it—

And the shadow’s scream tore through the forest as it was forced backward, dissolving, shrinking—

Fading.

Nnenna fell forward.

I collapsed beside her.

Both of us shaking.
Both of us crying.
Both of us alive.

Kelechi ran to us, dropping to his knees and pulling us into his arms.

“My daughters…” he whispered brokenly.
“My babies… you’re safe.”

But as he held us—

A cold breeze drifted through the shattered circle.

The light flickered.

And a voice whispered from the darkness:

“This is not over.”
